Tesuque Creek Residence
The Tesuque Creek Residence is a Design/ Build collaboration between Draw 4 Studio Architects and Wilson Design & Construction. This contemporary house had a challenging start with another team, but after a careful redesign, and many months of hard work, Draw 4 and WDC are excited and pleased with the final product.
The Residence is approximately 4000 sf total, with 3 levels and many beautiful and unique features. Views are spectacular from all of the major living areas. Interior courtyards bring in light from the south and provide opportunities for landscaped areas within the footprint. Finishes are simple, clean and contemporary - yet warm and comfortable. This is a beautiful residence that has been a fabulous success!

Holloway Residence
This newly constructed custom residence was built for a Client who wanted an efficient, contemporary home with extensive outdoor living areas. Although the total covered area of the house exceeds 5000 sf, the actual heated square footage is less than 3000. The house is located in a Santa Fe neighborhood with houses on all sides, but affords great privacy through the use of integrated exterior yard walls. By design, these walls capture outdoor space and make it an extension of the house itself, creating private yet open outdoor living areas. Interior and exterior spaces thus appear woven across the property. The same conceptual ideas influence the exterior building elevations, where planes overlap and intersect. The final product is an exciting, contemporary addition to the neighborhood that is comfortable and beautiful.

Gardner Residence
This custom-built and hand-crafted 9000 sf major remodel, located in the hills of Santa Fe, has many one-of-a-kind features. Although the project started small, the Owner quickly realized the entire house needed a redo. Major electrical and plumbing systems, as well as site drainage and infrastructure, were replaced and updated. A new home automation system was added. The main entry and exterior portals were all redesigned to dramatically change the character of the house.
Not wishing to necessarily pursue a particular “Santa Fe style”, as evidenced before the renovation, the Owner asked for an “old world feel” to be added and carried throughout the project. The house was essentially transformed into a rare beauty, both loved and revered by all involved in the process.

Odems/ Wilson Residence
Draw 4 Architect, Sandra Odems, designed and helped construct this small house for her family over 20 years ago, before her family grew to include three children. She remains in this small, efficient house today because she loves the views, the quiet and peaceful location, and the open feeling of the spaces.
The house is small, but feels large. The open plan, tall ceilings and expansive views make this simple, day-lit house very special. The house is masonry and stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Siting the house was complicated by steep terrain and difficult access, but the team found opportunities in these challenges and created a highly valued asset on a tight budget.

The Amarillo Botanical Gardens Conservatory
This 5000 sf glass conservatory houses a tropical exhibit in the North Texas climate. The building was designed using passive strategies, building energy simulations and glazing analysis to select the right combination of features. Passive cooling using fans and misters, combined with automated natural ventilation, help keep the plants cool and the spaces comfortable. Glazing analysis focused on reducing heat gain while admitting as much natural light as possible.
The beauty of the building is rivaled only by the beauty of the flowering plants inside. The Conservatory design met the goal of the project by becoming a focal point for the Botanical Gardens, being an energy efficient greenhouse, and by creating an interactive, enjoyable and exciting educational experience for all ages.

Bosque School
Master Plan and Phase 1 Buildings
Phase 2 Arts Center
This new campus project included several phases and began with community input and user programming sessions. The School Master Plan required extensive planning with the City of Albuquerque as well as neighborhood approvals. The project spanned several years and included many talented consultants and engineers.
Phase 1 Buildings included 30,000 sf of space: Administration, Science Labs, the Library, and the Middle and High School Classroom Buildings. Site planning, sports fields, parking and outdoor classrooms were also included. The campus site, along the Bosque, prompted a design that connected both the users and the buildings to the natural environment. Buildings were clustered to create exterior gathering spaces and mature trees were protected.
The classroom buildings were also designed with strategies to bring students and teachers together. Offices were open to student group learning areas and teachers were encouraged to work alongside the students.
The Phase 2 Arts Complex included a 15,000 sf Fine Arts Center with a Black Box Theater, Lobby/ Gathering Space, Classrooms & Offices. Schematic design for the Arts Center also included a Music Wing.
Outdoor learning and gathering spaces continued to be included for informal gatherings as well as graduation and more formal theatrical performances. Indoor spaces were multi-functional to allow the buidling to be used to its fullest. The Arts Mezzanine functions as a Gallery space for public shows, and as an art classroom during school hours.
